Petroselinum Crispum (Hamburg Turnip Rooted Parsley) Seeds

Turnip Rooted parsley is a special variety of flat leaf parsley with a bonus. This variety offers all the same benefits of standard flat leaf parsley above ground. Below ground, it forms thick taproots that can be grated and used in dishes. This parsley root is often compared to parsnip in taste and use. Parsely plants are biennial. After you cut the foliage, you can wait for the roots to sprout again. Or you can choose to pull up the roots anytime after it has been established and use the roots. This is better than intercropping, This is duel cropping.

Planting successive crops will ensure you a steady supply oof leaf and roots all season long. Parsley requires minimal space and can be grow in containers, raised beds or in the ground. Parsley is rich in anti-oxidants, Vitamins C, A and K. The latter is important for bone health and blood clotting. It is also a diuretic, which can help cleanse your system of toxins while reducing bloating and blood pressure. You can incorporate more parsley into your diet by making salads, such as Shephard’s salad or even adding to your regular lettuce salad. Pregnant women should avoid excessive consumption of parsley.

Growing Information:

Turnip rooted parsley can be grown like any other parsley. The seeds should be soaked for 24 hours in warm water. The sow them close together with just about 1/8” of soil to keep them from washing away or drying out. You can use any well-draining fertile soil. Avoid compact soils. The existing soil in your vegetable garden is likely to be fine. You can even use native soil amended with compost.  Optimal Ph is 5.5-6.7. It does well in full sun to partial shade.

Capsicum Chinense (Hot Datil Pepper) Seeds

Surprisingly, the datil pepper is still relatively unknown around the world despite being all the rage in north Florida.  This heirloom pepper was originally brought over from Minorca, Spain to St. Augustine, Fl when the Spanish gave control of Florida to the British following the Treaty of Paris. Even though Minorca is a Spanish island, it was controlled by the British.  The Datil was grown commercially in Florida, and despite St. Augustine being a bustling city of tourism, the Datil has not found its way into the gardens of growers as have many other peppers have that came to the U.S. after. Yet, around these parts, the datil can be found in backyard gardens, farms stands and local sauces all over. It is one of the most popular peppers. The datil pepper is a capsicum chinense variety, and it has the fruity undertones of a habanero. It is often touted as a less spicy pepper. But the truth is that is can range from about 100,000 to 300,000 SHU. That puts its top end of the spice range where a habanero usually begins. The Datil pepper starts out green and matures to orange. Early in the green stage, and in younger plants, these peppers are a less spicy alternative to the habanero for those who like the taste but prefer a little less heat. Datil peppers are often able to go on as perennials here in Florida if they do not get a hard freeze, and the older plants and intense sun are capable of putting out peppers on the spicier end. There is a sweet Datil variety that matures to red, but this is the spicy one. We are happy to bring this pepper to market and spread it far and wide. Give these plants plenty of bone meal and sun, and they produce abundantly.

Banisteriopsis Caapi “Peruvian Yellow” (Yage) LIVE PLANT

We offer these seed-grown plants from our stock of Peruvian Yellow Banisteriopsis Caapi Seeds. Each plant will be genetically individual as opposed to our other plants, which are cloned. These plants are several months old and in limited supply.

Banisteriopsis caapi is a perennial vine native to the Amazon Rainforest. These are true banisteriopsis caapi seeds harvested form the Peruvian Amazon. You will notice from the picture in the gallery of four seeds, comparing side-by-side those of banisteriopsis caapi (bottom two seeds) with seeds of the maple tree (top two seeds) that the seeds are very similar. Many have confused the two, but aside from the wing, the primary seed at the lower end is different. The wing is not necessary fro germination at all. it is simply a mechanism for dispersal. caapi, known as yage or ayahuasca vine, has a long history as an ingredient in the ceremonial brews of various tribes that inhabit the Amazon. Established plants in optimal conditions can grow several feet in a week. Caapi does best in filtered light with high humidity in a temperature of about 86 degrees Fahrenheit. It is frost tender and will survive only down to about 40 degrees Fahrenheit. You can grow it indoors as a houseplant. However, growth will slow if the temperature falls below 68 degrees. The soil should be kept consistently moist with a small amount of water added every few days. Most caapi reproduction is achieved through cuttings, which are taken in the summer.

We also offer a wide range of other Yage plants.

Growing Information: Banisteriopsis Caapi is a relatively easy-to-grow plant. It can be grown indoors in a window as a houseplant. It prefers shade when it is young, although established plants can tolerate full sun. They are hardy outdoors to zone 9. It will die back to the ground below about 40 degrees F, but it will regrow as long as it is mature enough and does not get too cold. Mulching the base and even using a pipe insulator to protect the main stem can all extend your hardiness factor in zone 9. Elsewhere, the caapi plant can be grown in containers and brought in during the coldest months, or kept in a heated greenhouse. It does well in fertile, well-draining soils and has average water needs.

Punica Granatum (Wonderful Pomegranate) LIVE PLANT

Punica Granatum is a fruit-bearing tree that produces pomegranates. But you can grow these expensive fruits within just a few years from seed and continue picking fresh fruit for years to come. Pomegrantes are really just large seed pods. The outer rind is generally discarded, but the numerous seeds inside are each covered with a membrane that holds in a raindrop’s worth of blood red juice. With every bite that penetrates these membranes, the seeds shed their tart juice. Pomegranate seeds are edible, although some people choose to spit them out. Pomegranate is one of the most nutritious fruits you can eat. Pomegranate juice is very high in antioxidants and immune-supporting ingredients. The fruit, rind and seeds of pomegranate have long been used in India’s traditional medicine known as Ayurveda. Pomegranate has been used to support cardiac health by reportedly reducing cholesterol, lowering blood pressure and keeping blood from clotting abnormally. A compound called “punicalagin”, which hints at the genus name, punica, has been shown in clinical studies to be responsible for much of these effects. Pomegranate has also been said to help with the nervous system, possibly offering support to those suffering from depression. Certain compounds seem to stimulate serotonin and estrogen to contribute to this action. Although you may typically think of pomegranate as a warmer climate fruit, it actually withstands temperatures in the north. It is considered hardy to zone 7, and in rare cases it will survive in zone 6. Elsewhere, it can be grown as a large container plant.

Growing Information: Pomegranate is a good beginner plant for growers getting into fruit trees. It is less susceptible to disease and pests than many other fruit trees, and it is relatively drought tolerant. Pomegranate can also reach fruiting size in just a few years. Start  the plant out in a covered area. After acclimation to your environment, transplant to a 1 to 3 gallon pot with fertile well-draining soil and water regularly.  Once the tree has outgrown the pot and is 2-3 feet tall, it can go into the ground. Choose a location in full sun. It should be watered daily for the first 2 weeks, then twice per week for another two months. Once it is firmly established, you can get away with watering about once per week. But if your temps are particularly hot or it rains a lot, make adjustments in the schedule for this.

Musa Acuminata (Grand Nain Banana) – LARGE LIVE PLANT

The Grand Nain Is one of the most popular commercial varieties of banana. It is a close relative of the Dwarf and Giant Cavendish as a member of Musa acuminata species. Grand Nain reproduces entirely by vegetative reproduction. As the root system builds up energy, it will send out one or multiple offsets. At about a foot in height, these offsets can be separated from the main stock, potted and kept in a shady area until they have taken hold. Banana trees are actually more related to grass, which often reproduces in a similar manner. We refer to them as trees because of their size, but botanically, banana come from large plants. Bananas like full sun, but they do well early on with some shade. Banana plants like plenty of water, but do not like to be in standing water. On the other hand, banana trees also can tolerate some drought. Bananas are also heavy feeders, requiring as much organic matter as you can provide. They benefit from mulching and a little wood ash. The large leaves are also useful in cooking, and have even been traditionally used as plates or take-out containers in some countries. Their large size does make banana leaves catch wind easily, so a protected location will help your banana leaves from being shredded by the wind. This will rarely kill the plant, but the leaves can die, which is less aesthetically pleasing, and reduces the capability for photosynthesis. Grand Nain banana usually fruit in 6 to 12 months depending on conditions and the size of the root base. A more established root system can gather energy faster. Grand Nain plants reach about 8 feet in height before sending out a huge flower stalk, which eventually is replaced by a cluster of many bananas. A single plant can produce more bananas than an average family will eat in the time they are ripe. You can harvest the bananas when they are green and of full size, but many growers prefer to let them ripen on the plant where animals are not a threat. Once your Grand Nain tree has fruited, it should be cut back at the base.  If there are no nearby shoots already popping up, a new one should soon form and take over the cycle. Those will take over the next year’s fruit production.  The inner stalk also is a source of drinkable water. Grand Nain banana trees are hardy between zones 8 to 11.  They are hardy down to 20 degrees Fahrenheit. It is possible that the foliage can die back during frost, so some growers will cut off the leaves and wrap the plants during frosty times. Then you will still maintain the vertical growth, which should bring you closer to flowering and fruiting the following season. You can grow bananas in large pots too. This allows you to move the plants inside during cold weather, which means you can still grow bananas in cooler zones.  These are not small tissue culture plants like most sites offer. We offer Grand Nain Plants in 1-gallon pots, averaging 20-30” in height.

Growing Information: These plants enjoy some shade when young, but will enjoy full sun as they mature. Plant in a well-draining soil with plenty of organic matter. Feed heavily and mulch the base of the plant. Keep well-watered as long as it is not in standing water.

Theobroma Cacao “Criollo” – Live Cocoa Plant

Theobroma Cacao "Trinitario" (Large Round Fruit) - Live Plant

This is a seed-grown plant of the Criollo variety of theobroma cacao.  These are characterized by light colored, often white seeds. This variety is in very high demand. . We also offer several other varieties of cacao.  Typical plants are about 8″-12″ depending on timing.  Cacao typically benefits from a partner for pollination, so two plants are ideal if fruiting is desired. You can buy two of this type, or you can buy one of our other cacao varieties. .

Raw cacao powder is known as Food of the Gods, a name which derives from early use by South American tribes, most notably the Aztecs and Mayans. Cacao was so revered that the beans were used as currency. Today, it has become evident that cacao is responsible for a number of different health benefits, including effects on cholesterol, digestion and mood. It contains, among other things, antioxidants, caffeine, flavonoids, phenylethylalamine, theobromine and tryptophan. It can be naturally sweetened with stevia.  Cacao is a little finicky, although it is much easier than dealing with the seeds. Buyers are fully responsible for keeping the plant alive once it arrives.

Camellia Sinensis (Tea) – LARGE LIVE PLANT

We are now offering a limited supply of larger, 1-gallon size tea plants. These plants are of flowering age, and will be about 18” in height.  This is the plant used to make green and black tea (camellia sinensis). The leaves are a significant source of caffeine. In addition to the leaves that can be made into tea, this plant is also known for it’s fragrant blooms, which come late in the season. Tea plants like an area with some shade for the highest quality leaves, but they can be grow in full sun. The highest quality green tea is usually grown under shade cloth. A stressed plant is likely to have more bitter tannins. Tea plants are fairly tolerant overall and can withstand light frosts. But for a better quality leaf,  you should ideally provide a shaded area with some morning sun, regular water and an acidic, nutrient-rich soil. Tea plants can also be grow in pots indoors and outdoors similar to coffee plants.

Growing Information: These plants enjoy some shade with early sun. Plant in a rich, acidic soil with plenty of nutrients and keep well-watered.

Ligusticum Porteri (Osha Root) – Whole

Osha root,  Ligusticum porteri, was a valuable Native American medicine. The plant is perennial herb in the carrot family, and it is native to the Rocky Mountains and part of New Mexico. A rather limited herb, many who use osha are passionate about it. The dried root packs an unusual aroma, and it is said to be useful as a supplement for congestion and colds, sore throats, pain relief, respiratory health, relaxation, viral infections, digestion, ulcer protection, skin wounds, animal bites and cough. It is reported to have high levels of antioxidants too. The root can be prepared as a tea by simmering for anywhere from 30 minutes to up to 6 hours to release all the active components. Drink as needed. You can also make an alcohol tincture by soaking the root for several months in high proof ethanol. A 1:5 tincture would be taken as 20 to 60 drops up to 5 times per day as needed. Avoid during pregnancy as it may cause miscarriage and was used for that purpose traditionally.

Vaccinium Vrigatum (Florida Rabbiteye Blueberry) Seeds

LOOKING FOR LARGER WHOLESALE? WE CAN CUSTOM HARVEST ANY AMOUNT OF SEEDS YOU NEED IN THE SPRING TO EARLY SUMMER. CONTACT US WITH YOUR NEEDS.

Rabbiteye is a large variety of blueberry native to Florida and the Southeastern US. Theses hedgelike bushes can get as tall as 20 feet if left untrimmed. They bear generous crops of top notch berries. Rabbiteye bears fruit more towards early summer, which is later than southern lowbush. But established plants are very low maintenance. A perfect permaculture shrub, proper mulched rabbiteye blueberries can grow without regular supplemental watering, except in cases of drought. They also do not have complicated pruning requirements and are not usually susceptible to pests and disease in their native region. Cutting rabbiteye blueberries back to maintain manageable size and removing dead wood is recommended. But otherwise, the bushes are one of the least labor-intensive fruit trees you can grow. We offer Florida-grown Rabbiteye blueberry seeds. We harvest these seeds ourselves from a mature farm. Rabbiteye is also a contributor of genetics to the pink blueberries. They usually go from  white to green to pink to purple to blue as they mature. They can reportedly handle temperatures down to zero degrees Fahrenheit.

Growing Instructions: Soak the seeds in water for 24 hours prior to sowing. Ideally, the seeds should be cold stratified in the fridge for 30- 60 days or planted outside in the fall. Indoors, you can statify them in a moist paper towel or atop your planting medium in the fridge. After that period, the change to regular temperature should trigger the seed’s internal clock, making it believe it is springtime.  This can cause difficulty for some growers, but just keep the soil evenly moist and be patient. The seeds are very tiny, so they should be sown on the surface of the soil. Do not bury them, and keep them out of direct sunlight so the soil does not dry out.  Some shade during the early stages is ok, although these plants prefer full sun as they mature. They will also shade each other if grown in rows once they are larger. Younger plants should be protected from animals, but as they mature into full shrubs, they are relatively maintenance-free. You can opt to prune them to size for easier harvesting. The blueberries atop a mature bush are often very good quality, but it can be very time-consuming to harvest them. Leaving adequate spacing to walk around the entire bush will also help with harvesting.. A spacing of about 5 feet per bush is ideal. They will grow together like a hedge and do well in raised mounds mulched with wood chips every 2-3 years. Drip irrigation will help during dry periods.

Citrullus Lanatus (Black Diamond Watermelon) Seeds

Black Diamond Watermelon is an open-pollinated heirloom variety known for its dark rind and enormous fruits, which can weigh up to 50 pounds! These melons have a red flesh and a high water content, making them juicy and refreshing. They require a long growing season to reach such a gargantuan size with vines as long as 20 feet.  About 90 days is what they should take to mature. They need at least 6-8 hours of full sun per day. For the biggest melons, you should limit the vines to a single fruit per plant. Black Diamond watermelon is suited for zones 3-9, but they enjoy hot and humid temperatures. They require plenty of water, but avoid soggy soil. Their ideal soil is a slightly acidic, well-draining soil rich in organic matter.. These melons are too big for trellising, so you will need to devote ample space for them to spread. You can use an old pallet or something similar to keep the melons off the ground. Even a grate or grill propped up on some bricks or a 2×4 frame with hardware cloth can work similarly. If not that, then a bed of straw will work. You can intercrop with fast-growing tall plants that will raise above the patch before your watermelon vines spread out if you want to utilize the space where the leaves spread out to. The watermelon leaves can help act as a groundcover if you choose the right companion. You can also try planting at the base of young fruit trees as long as they will not shade the watermelon too much.

Use nitrogen fertilizers during vegetative growth, then switch to phosphorous and potassium-based fertilizers when flowering begins to help support better blooming and fruiting. You can use bonemeal or rock phosphate for phosphorous, but these release rather slowly, especially the rock phosphate, so you may want to consider blending these in when you do your soil preparation. You can use wood ash, burnt cucumber peels or banana peels for potassium. Powdery mildew is common as with all plants of the cucumber, melon, squash family..  You can also use a copper fungicide or neem oil on the leaves as a preventative, but it is important to increase airflow.  Proper removal of affected leaves early on can help with controlling the spread. You should also avoid planting anything in this family in the same location two years in a row.  Reduce watering about 2 weeks before harvest time to increase the sugar content.

Growing Information:

Sow your black diamond watermelon seeds ¼” deep in a well-draining fertile soil. You can start in seed-starting cells or containers, but it is also easy to direct sow as long as the daytime temperatures are consistently above 70 degrees F and nights above 50 degrees F.  Starting indoors may be recommended in areas with shorter seasons. Otherwise, direct sowing is usually easier and faster.  For direct sowing, you can build up mounds of soil about 6 to 12 inches high and 5 feet across. Sow about 6 seeds across the mound and thin out the best two or three seedlings. Mounds should be spaced about 5 feet apart from each other. You can use 20-gallong containers if you wanted to grow in containers, but the ground will always be better. A drip system for watering is the best as it provides even moisture and does not get any water on the plants. Moisture on the leaves is what allows fungus to thrive. So you should water early in the morning letting your hose soak into the soil below the leaves. Avoid spraying as that can kick up dirt and pathogens and provide them moisture to thrive. Watering in the morning ensures you have the whole day for the plant to dry out, and it is also prepared with a fresh supply of water for the days sun, kinda like having a balanced breakfast in the morning

Entada Rheedii (African Dream Herb) Seed Hearts (WHOLESALE)

This is the inner meat of the entada seed heart. This is the part used for lucid dream work. We also offer whole seed and Resin Extract.

Entada Rheedii is a tropical climber native to Africa that is remarkable in a number of ways. Its mammoth seeds, which can each weigh in excess of an ounce, grow in long pods that are matched in immensity. Entada Rheedii is frequently found near water and on beaches as part of a unique cycle of dispersal. Given the location of the plants, falling entada rheedii seeds easily make their way to water. These African dream herb seeds are designed with hard, impermeable coats that allow them to float for long periods of time in the corrosive sea water. Entade rheedii seeds are known to float extreme distances until they wash up on distant shores where they will germinate and form new populations of plants. As a testament to the effectiveness of this process, entada rheedii is known to inhabit shores in tropical Africa, India, Asia and even Australia. Natives consider the seeds to provide good luck, and so they are often carried. Additionally, entada seeds are used to make jewelry and can be made into a topical ointment to treat jaundice. The smoked leaves, and even the seeds according to some sources, is said to increase dream activity much like calea zacatechichi and silene capensis. Communication with ancestors through dream states is an important traditional African practice, making these seeds especially significant in the context of their culture

Diplopterys Cabrerana (Chaliponga) – LIVE PLANT

EACH LOT CONTAINS ONE SEED-GROWN PLANT FROM OUR STOCK. SKIP THE HARD PART AND HAVE YOUR VERY OWN CHALIPONGA PLANT!!

Diplopterys Cabrerana, known locally as chaliponga, is a sacred vine in the malpighiaceae family, which is the same family as the sacred banisteriopsis caapi vine.  Chaliponga seeds have been one of the hardest seeds for us to obtain, but after nearly 2 decades and a few failed attempts, we are able to bring these to market for you. These are in addition to our offerings of Diplopterys lucida, Alicia anisopetala, banisteriopsi caapi, banisteriopsis rusbyana and several other Amazonian vines in this same family.

We have seen sources use Diplopterys cabrerana synonymously with banisteriopsis rusbyana, but we believe that to be incorrect and offer seeds for both species. Not only does a very knowledgeable local source identify these differently, but analyzing the seeds of both species shows that the structure and even texture of banisteriopsis rusbyana seeds are more similar to other banisteriopsis species such as caapi and muricata. Likewise, cabrerana seeds are quite similar to those of Diplopterys lucida. All of these have a wing, but a more precise comparison makes it clear that there is a difference between the 2 genera. This would not be the first case of mistaken classification or identity of these vines.  Well into the early 2010’s many people still recognized a lot of other malpighiaceae vines simply as different forms of banisteriopsis caapi. We began trying to unravel the confusion by comparing samples of seeds and vine and speaking with locals. Certainly the common names of “red caapi”, “black caapi”, “yellow caapi”, “white caapi” endure today as they have become a simplistic means of reference. This same phenomenon is not uncommon with other plants and herbs. But it is nice to be able to continue after all these year to shed new light on these vines and bring new species to collectors.

As a species. Diplopterys cabrerana is well-known amongst people who know anything about these types of plants. It has a long history of traditional use in the Amazon. But it is also one of the more curious species to study. We did have a plant several years ago, and it proved to be suitable for indoor growth in conditions similar to Banisteriopsis caapi. We presume germination procedures would also be similar to those of caapi with the bottom of the seed buried and the wing tip up. Accordingly, we are providing the link to our caapi grow guide as a reference.

Growing Information: These plants enjoy shade or being grown in a sunny window. You do not need to give them full sun until they are mature. As a jungle plant, they would normally receive relatively low light until they climb up above the canopy. So less is more with these guys. They seem to like even more shade than caapi. They’ve been started in a seed starting mix. Any bagged potting soil or cactus soil should be fine.

Mitragyna Speciosa (Kratom) Indo Strain – Live Plant – FREE SHIPPING

We offer live Indo kratom plants. Some people have called this strain, pink Indo, but that is misleading because kratom strains are no identified on the basis of vein color. That is more of a product of age and environment. But it derives from an Indonesian seed-grown plant, which has been reproduced via cloning. It is likely that there are more than one Indo kratom plant clones in existence, whereas Rofat and Bumblebee are very specific clones. But nonetheless, in the interest of offering as many genetics as possible, we are produce to add these to our catalog. This stock likely has fewer clones in existence. We also offer live Bumblebee and Rifat Kratom Plants!

Light Selection

When you first receive your kratom plant, your kratom plant will be small enough that it can survive under most supplemental lighting; its overall needs will still be low. As it grows, your kratom plant will require increasingly more light to feed each new leaf and inch of growth. Keeping up the momentum of these light needs will help the plant keep up its outward expansion. The more and better quality of light you provide, the more you may reap the rewards of vigorous growth of a happy kratom plant. Under ideal conditions, kratom is a fast grower. So while you may buy yourself some time initially by using the light you have available, you will have to decide how you want to invest in the future of your plant. This guide will help you choose.

A simple compact fluorescent (CFL) bulb, which are the spiral bulbs you commonly see, or a household LED, will work while the plant is still within the first foot or so. If you’re on a tight budget, this would keep it alive as it gets larger too. You are not absolutely forced into buying lights, but you might want to consider a plan to upgrade along the way. Choose something that is at least full spectrum or has more of a focus on the blue spectrum, since that is the spectrum responsible for vegetative growth. Red spectrums are best for flowering. Since you are not flowering kratom, you need only to focus on vegetative growth.

Bulbs classified as “daylight” or “cool” are typically highest in the blue spectrums. Household bulbs are the cheapest. But you can get much better results with something with a higher output of light and more specifically geared towards growing plants. Since the human eye focuses primarily on the light spectrums in the middle of the rainbow, household lighting may not cater to the “unseen” spectrums that plants rely on for photosynthesis and other metabolic processes. But if you buy household bulbs with a concentration on the blue spectrums, they will get you by until you decide to upgrade.

For many years, before lighting advancements and rising popularity of indoor growing, indoor growers frequently used fluorescent light tubes for growing plants. You can use them for multiple plants at once. Fluorescent lighting, specifically in the blue spectrum, is generally considered suitable for vegetative growth. It would be perfectly fine for growing healthy kratom plants. The tubes will give a higher output than standard bulbs, and you can connect them to the undersides of shelves for plants on the shelf below or hang them from a chain, so you can adjust the height according to the growth of the plant.

Fluorescent tubes come in different thicknesses. The most commonly used fluorescent tube for lighting is the T8, which is an inch in diameter. But T5’s are considered the most ideal for plants as they cover a wider area and produce more output for less energy. There is also a T5HO tube, which is even more efficient. Clearly, the more efficiency you have, the more you will save in electric bills, and the more your plant will benefit. But with that said, LED’s are the least expensive option to run.

LED efficiency has seemingly made it the light type of choice for the majority of indoor growing both recreationally and commercially. It makes discussing options such as high pressure sodium or metal halide in this guide virtually useless, except to say that they are more expensive options. The ballasts and setups for these bulbs and the electricity usage are much more costly. You might expect to pay about $60 to $200 for a basic LED setup geared towards growing plants. But if you want something really top of the line, we recommend Electric Sky LED GROW Lights. There are 2 models, including a more professional setup (ES300). You can get top results with these, and they end up paying for themselves as compared to other types of lighting. If you’re growing anything for business purposes, this is absolutely the best option. It might be a little expensive initially, but when you consider the energy savings and the fact that it is the most tailored towards growing plants, it is actually more economical. The setup for fluorescent lighting will probably be about $50 by the time you consider the cost of the tubes and the fixture. A more extensive system can be $200. But aside from higher energy costs, you have to replace the bulbs more often, especially if you leave them on for long periods of time. The bulbs can be a good part of the whole cost that you will have to spends over again. Fluorescents also contain mercury, which is hazardous to the environment, especially if the bulbs break in your home or office. LEDs tend to last a decade or more, even when on for half the day. They do not contain mercury, and their power usage is only a fraction of that of fluorescent lighting.

Now that you have an idea of the common forms of lighting available, you should be able to select the best option that meets your budget. The most efficient bulbs are those that use the least energy for the most output and do not need replacing as often. These benefit the environment as well. This is good for your wallet and good for the planet. While fluorescent and LED are both viable options for growing plants, LED’s, whether in a single household lightbulb or a full setup, provide not only better output, but they are cheaper to run and last longer. So in most cases, LED makes the most financial and environmental sense whether in your home or your grow space. But with some LED setups geared to aid flowering, just be sure the one you choose is focused most on the blue spectrum.

Vitis Rotundifolia (Black Muscadine Grape) Seeds

Muscadine grapes (vitis rotundifolia) are excellent wine grapes, delicious to eat, especially nutritious and many times more productive than that of regular grape vines. Considered a superfruit, the muscadine is an American grape, native to the Southeastern U.S., which has a taste very similar to concord grapes or even grape soda. They can be addictive. Muscadine grapes are suited to hot and humid climates where other grapes will not perform, and they have a very low chill hour requirement. Muscadines do contain seeds, which people have come to avoid in grapes over the last few decades, but those seeds are an extra packed source of resveratrol, antioxidants and multiple beneficial phenolic compounds. Certainly, the seeds can be spit out. But in an age where people pay for grapeseed extract and other natural supplements, it is possible to eat the seeds. Muscadine grapes do not ripen together in huge clusters, but rather they ripen individually and grow in little groups of about 3 or 4 berries all along the vine. But sometimes they do cluster together in as many as 15-20 grapes. This means they can be more labor-intensive to harvest, which may be one reason why traditional grapes became more commercially available. But the home gardener often knows the secrets of many edible treasures that were passed over on the basis of profitability. Mature muscadine vines can develop three-inch thick trunks and span over 20 feet in length. Ideally, they should be trellised on a wire with posts 10 feet apart. Each season, in early spring before the leaves begin growing, the vines are cut back to the main stems to remove any of the thinner stems back to the thicker, woodier stems. This process will thicken the main stems and force the plant to send out new shoots. Aside from pruning, muscadine grapes are pretty low maintenance. Their thick skin makes them disease and rot resistant and can tolerate a bit of neglect. They also hold up to spoliage a bit better, and they are perfectly fine being frozen if you are using them for wine or juice. Once established, muscadine grape vines will produce for decades. Muscadine leaves are also edible and can be used just like regular grape leaves. The grapes are also spectacular in jams and jellies. And of course, muscadine wine can create a wide spectrum of wines from sweet to dry. But they are usually made into sweeter style wines and often mixed with other fruits and served chilled.

Growing Information: Vitis Rotundifolia usually prefers cold treatment in order to germinate. To simulate the natural chill hours the plants would experience, you can either plant the seeds outside in winter, or you can put them in the fridge for a month.PLant them about 1/4- 1/8″ deep in any standard potting or seed-starting mix. Maintain proper moisture until they sprout. This will usually take at least a few weeks.  Provide structure for climbing. Little maintenance is required once the plant is established. This plant is ideal for zones 5-9, but can reportedly grow all over Florida. Ideally, they should have at least 300 chill hours to fruit.

Nicotiana Rustica (“Easter Island Strain” Tobacco) Seeds

This is the Rapa Nui or Easter Island strain of nicotiana rustica. It was originally collected in Easter Island, the Chilean island that was home to the Rapa Nui culture that built the iconic Easter Island Statues. The original inhabitants are believed to have arrived from Polynesia. The nearly 1000 statues were carved from pure volcanic stone, with the largest measuring up to 30 feet in height and weighing as much as 80 tons a piece. What is even more amazing is that these massive sculptures were moved across the island in a period between 1400 and 1650 AD, long before the invention of any kind of machinery. It is believed they “walked” the stones by alternating the weight of the stone on the right and left edges while advancing the opposing side forward one “step” at a time.

Nicotiana rustica is a member of the solonaceae family along with datura, nightshade, potatoes and tomatoes. It typically grows to about 4 feet, forming sticky leaves and yellow flower clusters. It has the highest levels of nicotine of any tobacco species, potentially containing up to twenty times more then nicotiana tabacum, the species used in commercial cigarettes. At such levels,  caution is advised when smoking nicotiana rustica  because of the risk of fatal overdose. However, Aztecs and other Native Americans who considered this plant to be sacred would indulge in smoking  nicotiana rustica to achieve mind alteration primarily for ceremonial purposes and occasionally for recreation. Rustica can have a smuch as 9 times the nicotine of nicotiana tabacum. You can see a picture of handmade cigars composed of cured nicotiana rustica leaves.  Nicotiana rustica was also ingested by chewing, snuffing or as an enema. Additionally, it was used to treat bruises, sprains, infected wounds and to treat baldness. Today it is grown as an ornamental and also used as an insecticide against infestations of aphids, spider mites and other tiny pests. WE CARRY OVER 20 TYPES OF TOBACCO SEED !!

Turnera Difussa (Damiana) Premium Herb (WHOLESALE)

Turnera diffusa, commonly known as Damiana, is an aromatic herb native to Central and South America. Damiana users seek it out for sedative and aphrodisiac properties. Considering this purpose, damiana is also referred to as Turnera Aphrodisiaca, and it was reportedly used by the Mayans to enhance sexual experiences. Damiana’s reputation as a sex herb may be connected to reports that it dilates blood vessels. Damiana reportedly mixes well with other calming herbs such as passion flower, skullcap and chamomile, and it is a common additive to smoking blends or teas. In addition to the aforementioned uses, damiana is also employed as a cough suppressant, stomach herb, anti-depressant herb and an anti-anxiety herb. It is said to help balance moods and female hormone levels while relieving constipation. Some users also find that it helps promote restful sleep. Damiana should be avoided by pregnant women. It has also been linked to fluctuations in blood sugar levels, so it should also be avoided by individuals suffering from diabetes or hypoglycemia.

Diplopterys Cabrerana (Chaliponga) Malpighiaceae seeds

Growing Information: We have no established growing information on this particular species, but it can be assumed they would follow similar growing techniques to banisteriopsis caapi. Bury the seed head at the bottom of the wing, leaving about half the wing buried.  Keep moist but not to wet. Germination typically takes several weeks, so maintain moisture and be patient. We are selling these seeds fresh and for a limited time. We cannot replace or refund for any seeds that fail to grow.

Eurycoma Longifolia (Tongkat Ali/ Longjack) Powder

The roots of the small, Asian tree known as tongkat ali  (eurycoma longifolia), have been a part of eastern medicine for centuries. It is sometimes called Malaysian Ginseng or Longjack. In the areas including, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia, the root is boiled in water, and the water is consumed as a healthy tonic for postpartum recovery, as an aphrodisiac, as well as the relief of fever, intestinal worms, dysentery, diarrhea, and indigestion. In Vietnam, the flowers and fruits of the tree are  also used for dysentery. Malaysians commonly use a paste form of it to relive headaches and stomach aches.
In the modern era, tongkat ali  is mostly known as a male enhancement herb and workout supplement. Tongkat Ali is said to lend support to blood circulation as well as being an energy and stamina booster. Studies have shown that tongkat ali may improve fertility levels in men. It has also shown potential to impact testosterone levels. Athletic individuals wanting to burn fat and gain muscle without using synthetic compounds have also been turning to the age-old herb, tongkat ali.  As with many exotic herbs, counterfeiting is a problem. We offer 100% natural tongkat ali from India

CBD Pure Isolate 99+% Powder WHOLESALE

We offer natural, lab-grade CBD isolate powder. CBD is a fluffy white powder in it’s pure form with little to no taste. We receive laboratory analysis for each batch to show that it is in compliance with legal guidelines and that there is no significant amount of THC left in the product.  With the THC removed, CBD will not give any type of THC effect.  The Farm Bill, signed by President Trump in 2018 exempts hemp-derived products such as CBD from the Controlled Substances Act, with the provision that the product contain less than .3% THC.  So the product is tested to be in compliance with that regulation.
CBD has become one of the fastest-growing health compounds. With the spread of CBD’s numerous health benefits being disseminated at an almost viral level.  CBD has began appearing in shops and stores in every town across America.  CBD’s benefits have been popularized as a direct result of America’s acknowledgement of medical marijuana. As marijuana became more widely used as a medicine, its individual components were given more attention as well. But not everyone wanted a marijuana high, some didn’t want to break the law and sometimes kids had afflictions that might have been helped by marijuana or its compounds.  The media began featuring stories of children with epilepsy who were in this dilemma, which eventually led breeders in medical marijuana states to start developing cbd-only strains of cannabis, most famously the “Charlotte’s Web” strain. The name that is also shared with an iconic child’s book, only has trace amounts of thc that would not pose any risk of intoxication. From this, followed increasing media attention and a growing number of CBD products for those who sought only the effects of CBD itself. Gas Stations, health stores, beauty supply shops and vape stores are all among the types of stores where CBD products are common. Even major chains like Walgreen’s and CVS have begun carrying CBD products in various forms.  As an extreme example of this phenomenon, we have even seen CBD sold in an auto repair shop.  But while it may be conveniently available, it is often quite expensive.
One of the reasons we wanted to offer CBD was because we were tired of seeing people pay astronomical amounts for relatively small amounts.  It seemed as if businesses were capitalizing on a trend.   But that can be financially debilitating for some people who are interested in CBD.  We have seen and heard of bottles of CBD liquid selling for about $100-$125 per bottle. Most of those bottles do not contain more than a gram of actual CBD. Granted, there is a supply chain and a lot of additional production cost and logistics when it comes to a finished product,  But we wanted to offer top quality CBD at an affordable price.

Synaptolepis Kirkii (ZULU / Xhosa African Dream Root) Root Powder (WHOLESALE)

Synaptolepis Kirkii roots is a  sacred plant whose roots have traditionally been used by South African tribes such as the Zulu and Xhosa for supernatural mental abilities, divination and ancestral contact. Known indigenously as Uuma-Omholpe, Kirkii is similar to another South African ethnobotanical root, silene capensis, since both roots (ubulawu) are used as a lucid dreaming aids. Synaptolepis Kirikii therefore joins silene capensis and calea zacatechichi, a plant native to the Oaxacan mountains of Mexico, in the class of substances known as oneirogens. All of these are available from World Seed Supply.

These lucid dreaming substance are typically characterized by assisting with deep sleep, enhanced dream activity, increased dream recall and ultimately lucid dreaming. They are tools that can have varying effects depending on the individual and which usually are most effective as part of a regular regimen. The ultimate goal is to be able to recognize a dream in progress and control its direction. Mastery of this is a true super power since one could conceivably do anything at this point, including have the ability to fly.

The compound, kirkinine, has been isolated from Kirkii root, and studies indicate it has “potent” neurotropic activity with a potential for neuroprotective capacities. The botanical name even seems to hint at the word “synapse”.   An increase in brain function could explain some of the herb’s nighttime “magical powers” and give merit to the traditional claims of supernatural mental abilities. But it also gives hope for more modern use of the herb as something to help offset some the wear and tear from old age and even work as a study aid or brain boost where it might be helpful.  So it is more than your average dreaming herb in terms of being a tonic herb. Best of all, it seems the herb can be active in amounts as low as 300mg for some people, and it is quite palatable compared to the very bitter calea zacatechichi. The root is usually made as a tea taken 2-3 times per day or sometimes just before bed.

Synaptolepis kirkii is by far the rarest of the three dream herbs that most people know about.  Most people, if they know of any, know of calea zacatechichi. Some of those people also know about silene capensis. But Kirkii is still a hidden treasure for most, and it is quite difficult to find. We have been working for many years to bring to market the hidden herbal treasures from around the world. World Seed Supply is proud to be able to offer South African-grown Synaptolepis  kirkii.

Sceletium Tortuosum (Kanna) Fermented Herb WHOLE (WHOLESALE)

Sceletium Tortuosum is a mesemb succulent native to South Africa, where it was historically chewed by the local people for mood elevation. Sceletium, or kanna , has captured the attention of researchers and is sometimes used today as a natural alternative to chemical antidepressants. Unfortunately, widespread interest in the plant has led to over-harvesting and endangerment. It is a specialty plant that is hard to find in nurseries or garden centers. Despite that, kanna is easy to maintain and makes a great houseplant. It grows rather quickly and can even flower just by placing it in a sunny window. Outside it is drought-tolerant and may be able to survive a brief frost, although precautions should be taken to avoid this if possible. The small flowers are delicately beautiful and can vary in color but are typically white or yellow. Kanna should not be combined with MAOI’s or SSRI’s . NO SALES TO LOUISIANA. (Contact us if you have an approved use.)

This is a whole dried herb from Thailand. We also offer crushed and rough cut (smoker’s cut) from South Africa as well as seeds, extracts and live plants.

Chamaelirium Luteum (False Unicorn Root) Herb Powder (WHOLESALE)

False Unicorn is a perennial herb in the genus Chamaelirium, and it is native to the eastern United States. The plant, which is known for its long feathery flower, has a long history of traditional use among Native Americans as a female tonic herb. Supply is generally limited compared to demand, so it is more expensive than a lot of other herbs. Many who use it, however, agree that it is worth the cost. Our prices are very competitive price compared to most sources.  False unicorn is listed as an emmenogouge, which is a substance that increases blood flow to the pelvic region. This could help explain how it has traditionally been regarded by native tribes as a tonic herb for the female reproductive system, including support with menstruation, menopause, morning sickness and fertility. It’s traditional use has primarily been amongst women, but some indicate a potential benefit for men too.  There can certainly be benefits to increased bloodflow to the pelvic region for men too. False Unicorn should never be used during pregnancy because it can cause loss of pregnancy by causing uterine contractions, even though it has been used traditionally to help with morning sickness. Despite having a potential to cause one, false unicorn is used by some women following miscarriages as a balancing herb. There are also reports of women taking it after coming off birth control.  False Unicorn contains a mix of saponins that can cause vomiting at high doses, but it is generally considered easy on the stomach to most people in the proper amounts, and has traditionally been used to mitigate nausea. It is also reported to increase urination, and it has even been used in some remedies for intestinal parasites.

The roots are the part of the plant that are used, and they are typically taken as a decoction or powdered and encapsulated. A typical does of the root is about 1-3g.  It can also be made into a tincture, which is taken 3 times per day.

Sacred lotus has many similarities to and is frequently confused with Nymphaea Caerulea. Sacred Lotus has long been celebrated as a religious and mythological symbol. In both Buddhism and Hinduism the lotus has spiritual meaning. As the national flower of India, Hindus associate it with fertility, rebirth, purity and beauty. Nymphaea Caerulea (Blue Lotus) 25X Extract WHOLESALE

This product is a 25X powder extract, meaning 25 grams of blue lotus were used to make one gram of this extract. This does not always mean it will have the equivalent potency of 100g of flower. But this is a high quality ultra-fine powder extract that is easily soluble in water. This product is actually made from nymphaea caerulea by one of the growers we work with. Many blue lotus extracts we have come across are actually really made with nelumbo nucifera. In a time when blue lotus flower supply is generally much lower than demand, this is a very good price for this extract.

Nymphaea Caerulea, which is a synonym for the more proper nymphaea nouchali var. caerulea, derives from the banks of the Nile River and has many similarities to nelumbo nucifera. Because of these similarities, the two are frequently confused. However, nymphaea caerulea, which is frequently called blue lotus, is in fact a water lily and not a lotus. The fact that they are both referred to as “sacred” and have similar narcotic and sedative properties coupled with the fact that nelumbo nucifera actually does have a blue variety adds to the confusion. Like nelumbo nucifera, nymphaea is symbolically significant, and it has frequently been depicted in ancient Egyptian art and temples. It is very likely that caerulea is the legendary psychoactive lotus depicted in Homer’s Odyssey. Used similarly, the active principles of nymphaea caerulea are reportedly analogous to those in nelumbo nucifera petals, which is said to produce feelings of relaxation, clarity, lightness and well-being. The  nymphaea caerulea seeds are drastically smaller than those of nelumbo. Nymphaea caerulea petals are also skinnier which makes them appear pointy and triangular, whereas nelumbo nucifera petals are fatter and rounder. The cool blue hue of nymphaea caerulea flowers also makes the plant seem mystical and surreal, so it is no wonder it has been chosen for symbolic significance throughout history. This product contains high quality dried nymphaea caerulea flowers, meaning that they have retained their vibrant color and sweet aroma after drying. We have encountered other products that are brownish and dirty or that have insects. Our blue lotus flowers are colorful and have a good scent.

Nymphaea Rubra (Red Lotus) Organic Whole Petals (WHOLESALE)

Red Lotus (nymphaea rubra) is a member of the waterlily family and is known commonly as Indian Red Waterlily. It is a close relative of Sacred Blue Waterlily (nymphaea caerulea), which is known commonly as Blue Lotus. Although both are referred to as “lotus” this can be misleading because the true lotus is in the genus nelumbo. Aside from being visually similar, all these flowers have similar alkaloids and herbal uses. All are used in essential oil production, aromatherapy and soap making, although red lotus naturally has a gentler scent. It is also a bit harder to find. We offer genuine Thai-grown red lotus petals as well as nympahea caerulea (blue lotus) flowers, pink lotus petals (nelumbo nucifera) and white lotus petals (nelumbo nucifera). Also check out our store for various Nymphaea and nelumbo seeds.

Nymphaea Caerulea (Blue Lotus) 25X Resin Extract (WHOLESALE)

Blue lotus is a sacred waterlily whose medicinal and euphoric effects were valued at least since the times of the ancient Egyptians.  Blue lotus is a sacred symbol across the world. The flower was often steeped in wine and drank.  Blue lotus is sometimes mistook for pink lotus, which is a true lotus. Both of these contain similar active compounds and have similar effects. They are both aquatic flowers. But nymphaea is actually part of the waterlily family, and it requires a tropical climate to thrive. Both of these are used for a calming effect. This is a concentrated resin made from blue lotus flowers. The resin is soluble in hot water.  We also offer powdered blue lotus extract.

Many blue lotus extracts are actually mistakenly made with nelumbo nucifera.  This is our 25X resin extract made from organic Thai-grown nymphaea caerulea flowers. We have dealt with the same supplier for well over a decade. We also offer a huge range of lotus products (blue, white, pink and red), including dried flowers, pure petals, pure stamens, seeds and extracts!

Nymphaea Ampla (White Waterlily) Flower Stamens (WHOLESALE)

Nymphaea Ampla is similar to nymphaea caerulea (sacred blue waterlily) both in appearance and in its traditional use. Ampla is reported to have some of the same alkaloids in the roots and bulbs. Nymphaea Ampla is also referred to as white lotus, although it is a waterlily. This is perhaps because lotus also has similar properties and traditional use as well as a similar appearance. http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/articlerender.fcgi?artid=1079300

The seeds of nymphaea are drastically smaller than those of nelumbo. The petals are also skinnier which makes them appear pointy and triangular, whereas those of nelumbo are fatter and rounder.

Perhaps nucifera’s reputation as a symbol of fertility is best represented in its seeds’ ability to retain viability for extreme periods of time. According to the Sailsbury University Arboretum, a 1,288-year-old nucifera seed from an ancient lake bed in China is the oldest known of all seeds to germinate. Its mysticism may also be linked to the mild narcotic or sedative effects from flowers that are eaten, smoked or steeped in wine and drank. In addition to having an incredible list of medicinal applications from helping premature ejaculation to having anticancer properties to helping cramps and digestion, all parts of the plant are considered edible and appear widely in Asian cuisine.

Nymphaea Ampla (White Waterlily) Organic Dried Flowers (WHOLESALE)

Nymphaea Ampla is similar to nymphaea caerulea (sacred blue waterlily) both in appearance and in its traditional use. Ampla is reported to have some of the same alkaloids in the roots and bulbs. Nymphaea Ampla is also referred to as white lotus, although it is a waterlily. Banisteriopsis Caapi (Yage, Peruvian Black) Vine, Shredded (WHOLESALE)

Banisteriopsis Caapi (Yage, Peruvian Black) Vine Segments

Banisteriopsis caapi is a perennial vine native to the Amazon rainforest. Although it is commonly listed as a form of banisteriopsis caapi, “black caapi” or “Black yage”, sometimes referred to as Trueno, is more accurately listed as alicia anisopetala.  As far as we can tell, there is no actual black variety of banisteriopsis caapi.  We believe it is is all alicia anisopetala because we have not found seeds or plants with banisteriopsis traits under the name black caapi.  You will notice that the seedlings have long slender leaves that do not look like banisteriopsis. The seeds are also a totally separate shape from those of banisteriopsis caapi. But since the vine and uses are similar, it is known locally as “black yage”. These names came to the U.S. without proper scientific identification such that the name black caapi has been widely perpetuated. In the effort of proper identification while also allowing our products to be found by those searching, we try to make this distinction by listing under both names. We proudly offer shredded Peruvian Black vine segments. Also offering caapi in various forms, colors and quantities.  LARGER WHOLESALE AMOUNTS ALSO AVAILABLE.
