Description

This is yet another addition to our amazing collection of trichocereus hybrid cactus seeds. These genetics are the result of a “Luther Burbank”  Peruvianus mother plant being pollinated with that of a trichocereus BBG (pachanoid).  We also offer the reverse of this cross. The Luther Burbank is a peruvianoid specimen named after a famous botanist from California who created hundreds of varieties of plants in the early 1900’s. He did extensive work with fruit trees and plants in the opuntia (prickly pear) genus. The trichocereus “Luther Burbank” is a cactus that once grew in his garden and has since been cloned and spread around. Trichocereus BBG  is an unknown trichocereus clone that was originally acquired at the Berkeley Botanical Gardens. It is a pachanoid specimen with round ribs and medium spines. Trichocereus BBG also is known for exceptionally large flowers. Intentionally hybridized Cacti are highly sought-after by cactus collectors because of their rarity. Many hybrids also combine genetics of different species to form superior specimens that contain the more desirable qualities of both parents. Crossing presents the collector with endless possibilities. If you can understand the genetic mixing behind you, this is certainly a trichocereus you want to have in your collection. Also check our other listings for more trichocereus hybrids.
