This listing is for mimosa tenuiflora seeds wildcrafted in Brazil. We also offer live mimosa tenuiflora plants.
Mimosa Tenuiflora is a tropical mimosa species that grows between southern Mexico and Brazil. It has delicate leaflets, which are accompanied by small with pom pom flowers with maturity. The stems of this species have thorns. The roots have a rich purple color. Mimosa roots have traditionally been used as a natural dye, to make leather and as a topical treatment for burns and skin. Accordingly, Mimosa bark is also used in soaps. We source our seeds from Brazil where they are wildcrafted. The collector noted some interesting genetic mixing. Having a hard shell, mimosa seeds tend to store well. The stock picture is of a young seedling grown from these seeds.
