Lophophora has gained much attention as a genus because it contains the sacred cactus, known as peyote. Peyote, although widely collected by cactus collectors around the world, is illegal in the United States. Fortunately, this close relative is extremely similar in appearance. This physical similarity has even led some to call it “False Peyote.” Like true peyote, lophophora diffusa is a great candidate for grafting onto faster-growing root stocks such as San Pedro, blue myrtle and pereskiopsis. Although cultivated by many serious cactus collectors, diffusa is considered endangered species in the wild and both seeds and plants are hard to come by. We are proud to offer these top-quality Lophophora Diffusa var. koehrsii seeds to those interested in studying this unique and beautiful plant. Unfortunately, the law in California a was written in a way that it prohibits the entire genus, so we cannot ship there.
