This is a one-of-a-kind handmade necklace made from two ethnobotanical seeds. The pattern alternates between Betel nuts (areca catechu), harvested in India, and Baybeans (Canavalia Maritima) seeds, harvested in Mexico. Inspired by tribal type jewelry, we thought it was an interesting side project to create a necklace made from these two special seeds from different parts of the world. They share not only an aesthetic match, but they are both have a history of human use. This is the only necklace of its kind, and you are buying the exact necklace in the photo. The necklace has an approximately 7.5″ diameter and is designed to slip easily over the head.
