Description

We are extremely excited to be offering these black caapi plants in limited supply.  Classification of these vines botanically is unreliable because the plants are so rare. Only a handful of people have begun growing them in the U.S. Most classification is based on indigenous classification rather than scientific. Indigenous classification bases the name simply on the wood color (black yage). We have seen this listed originally as banisteriopsis caapi. But it seems that they are actually a very closely related species, classified botanically as alicia anisopetala. You will notice that the seedling in the picture has more slender leaves. These seeds take many weeks, often months to sprout. This seedling was photographed on 1/24/15 from seeds planted in September. These plants have a very similar use and history to the more traditional banisteriopsis caapi. The seeds also have a butterfly shape, wheareas those of banisteriopsis caapi resemble maple tree seeds. Cross sections of black yage wood are also a bit more intricate then those of caapi. We also offer many other varieties of yage vine in plant, seed and dried vine form. **ATTENTION**THESE SHIP FROM OUR GROWER IN FL. SHIPPING INCLUDED IN THE PRICE.

**Buyer is responsible for frozen plants. USPS is heated, so the plant will be fine unless you leave it at your door too long. But if you are in a cold area and cannot get the plant right away, signature confirmation can be added to the shipping cost. They will hold the plant until you pick it up.
