Adenium Obesum (Desert Rose) – Live Plant

Desert Rose is a flowering succulent in the dogbane family. When damaged, desert rose plants exude a poisonous, white, sticky sap that had been used by native hunters to tip arrows and as a fish toxin. Collectors love desert rose for its majestic blooms and thick bulbous bases, referred to as caudex stems. Desert Rose plants grown from seed will usually have thicker bases, although mature cuttings can eventually thicken with age. The blooms come in a wide range of colors, including red and white, purple and white, white and yellow. These plants are easy to grow and drought-tolerant like many other succulents, yet their leaves are still know to burn in intense sun. Give the bases plenty of room to expand, and these plants will expand rather quickly and it will promote thicker stems. Desert rose can form multiple heads and sprout multiple blooms at once. Blooming occurs twice per year. You can grow desert rose similar to aloe, or other tender succulents.
Many stores sell small starter plants. Our stock contains a mix of several different colors,   They are seed-grown, of blooming age and over 2 years old.
Desert rose is usually pollinated by butterflies, or they can be hand pollinated if you have two separate specimens blooming at the same time. Choose blooms that have been open for a few days. Pull off one bloom entirely from the first plant. Peel back the petals of that bloom until you reveal a small cone at the base in the center of the petals. Collect the pollen with a toothpick from the tip of this cone. Next, peel back the petals of another flower. It should not be a clone of the first plant, and it must remain attached to the plant so the seeds can grow. Otherwise,  the bloom will die when it is detached. Peel back the petals of the still-attached bloom to reveal the cone on that plant. Then, transfer the pollen to the stigma in the middle of the cone on that plant. After several days, a long fruit should begin forming. Once you see a fruit, you should put the plant in a covered container or bag, such a fine mesh bag, because the seeds will disperse widely once the fruit matures and snaps open.

Capsicum Frutescens (Tabasco Pepper) Seeds

Some people may not realize that Tabasco sauce gets its name from the type of pepper used to make it. Tabasco is a type of bird pepper from Tabasco, Mexico. Tabasco ranges form about 30,000 to 50,000 Scoville heat units, which is about 10% as hot as a habanero. Tabascos are easy to dry and make a good dried pepper that is significantly hotter than cayenne or commercial flaked pepper for those who prefer something with a bit more kick but still good for everyday use. You can also soak them in vinegar or use them to make hot sauce. Tabasco plants will grow as perennials in warmer climates. Tabasco plants can handle minor short-term freezes, especially if the base is mulched well. Plants will then continue to produce a constant supply of tabasco peppers throughout the growing season. For those who prefer to use them fresh, they are available much if the year. Where it never freezes, they should be available all the time. Even a few plants should provide enough peppers for your family with some to give away. If you’re making hot sauce, then you may wish to grow more plants.

Morus Rubra (Dwarf Everbearing Mulberry) – Live Plant

Red Mulberry is one of the most productive sources of fruit in zones 5-10. The dwarf everbearig variety will produce fruit throughout the season once it begins and  can be pruned to be a compact bush on a patio or in a small year that does not have room for most larger fruit trees. Even many other dwarf fruit trees require a bit more space. This can be maintained to fit just about any outdoor area. At the same time, the dwarf everbearing mulberry can be grown into a larger tree. Ideal for permaculture, mulberry trees can grow quickly once established. These can begin fruiting within a year two, going on to produce bounties of berries, especially compared to raspberry and blackberry bushes. If you have chickens, you can plant these near your coop or overhanging your run. They will provide an everbearing snack for your feathery friends, and the chickens will help keep the ground clear of fallen berries. Even muberry leaves can be used as food and medicine. They are edible to goats and rabbits. Mulberry leaves are the sole food source for silkworms, and they also help support bird and animal life. Mukberry trees can tolerate some shade. Multiple trees may help increase productivity, and they can be reproduced via softwood cuttings in the spring.

Mulberry plants do not require any special plant expertise. They are considered a good beginner fruit tree becuse they are more forgiving than other fruit bearing plants. Keep them well-watered and fertilize as you would your other garden plants. We recommend mulching the base of all fruit trees. If you have livestock, you can use the spent bedding as a mulch. This will provide a continuing source of nutrition, conserve water and keep them roots warm during the winter months

Cannabis Sativa (Hemp) Seeds

We offer certified Canadian-grown hemp seed. Hemp is a cannabis sativa plant devoid of significant delta 9 thc levels that is used specifically for its nutritional benefits and fiber. Under the Farm Bill, any cannabis product under .3% delta 9 thc is legal under Federal law. That includes cannabis seeds. Compliant hemp products may still contain levels of other cannabanoids. These seeds are also selected to produce plant matter that should be compliant with these regulations. Be sure to consult any local and state regulations if you plan to grow hemp.
Hemp is one of the most useful plants on earth. One of the primary uses is as a superfood. Hemp seeds are one of the easiest grains to grow. Hemp is an incredible source of omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. Just 2 to 3 tablespoons of seed provide well over the daily recommended intake. They are about 30% oil and provide an assortment of vitamins and minerals including protein, iron zinc and magnesium. In fact, they are a common source of plant-based protein supplements and can be used to make hemp milk. They can be eaten raw as a snack or added to granola and cereals just like other grains. They can also be made into flour like other grains.
Hemp is a natural and easily renewable source of fiber that can be used to make anything from rope to soap to paper to insulation and clothing. It can be used to make anything that can be made from cotton, wood or plastic. There are an estimated 50,000 uses for hemp. Another of these is a as a fuel source. It can be burned as is or used to make combustible liquid fuels and is cleaner burning and can be produced organically without cutting down huge trees. Hemp can be grown in spaces that are already clear and is more efficient within a given space in terms of fiber production. An acre of hemp produces as much fiber as 4 acres of trees, and that area can be regrown much more quickly.
Hemp seeds, leaves and stems can also used as a livestock and pet feed. It has even been said that feeding industrial hemp to cattle can destress them and reduce inflammation.
Hemp is also beneficial to skin by encouraging the growth of new skin cells, which can reduce signs of aging. It also contains vitamin F, oleic acid and linoleic acids, which also help reduce lines and wrinkles. Additionally, hemp oil balances the sebum levels in the skin, which can reduce oily sheen and ultimately minimize blackheads and acne. Hemp also promotes healthy hair.
Growing Information:
Cannabis seeds can be direct sown or soaked in water and planted with the sprout facing down into the soil. The seed should be buried just below the soil line if pre-sprouted, Otherwise, sow it at a depth of twice the seed’s thickness.. The plants are fairly easy to grow. They enjoy a fertile, airy, loamy soil with regular watering and direct sunlight. The seedlngs should be shaded when young. If they begin to turn purple, they are getting too much light. They can be started under grow lights or outdoors, You can pinch the growing tips to encourage branching  During budding, you should remove the larger fan leaves that may blcok light to the buds,a nd you may even tie the branches down to allow more light to penetrate into the inner branchs. Using a fan on young seedlings will help strengthen their stems. Unlike growing marijuana, you will want to have male and female hemp plants together so they can produce seed.

Trichocereus Peruvianus var Huantar (Peruvian Torch) Seeds

Trichocereus Peruvianus var Rio Lurin (Peruvian Torch) Seeds

Trichocereus peruvianus is one of the most revered trichocereus species. This easy-to-grow, ornamental, columnar cactus, like other species of trichocereus, is tolerant of a wide variety of conditions and can handle more water and fertilization than most cacti. This makes it a good species for beginners. Its rapid growth rate rivals that of pachanoi (up to18 inches per year), and it can reach up to 18 feet with maturity. It is sometimes used as a grafting stock, although its large spines, which can easily measure three to four inches, make it more difficult to work with than San Pedro or Blue Myrtle. Like pachanoi, peruvianus is frost hardy to about 26 degrees Fahrenheit and can be raised outdoors all year in Zone 9 or warmer. Otherwise, it should be kept in medium to large pots that can be moved inside during the winter months. Plants can be watered frequently during the summer months. During the winter, they should be slowly acclimated to cool, dry, dark conditions to avoid stretching that could damage the aesthetics and structural integrity of the plant. When breaking dormancy in the spring, a reverse process of slowly introducing the factors necessary for growth may be beneficial for the same reason. For optimal skin color, trichocereus peruvianus should be kept in partial to full sun and the soil should be well-draining and rich in organic nutrients and minerals. Its blooms are also large and white. THESE SEEDS ARE ANOTHER WILD PERUVIAN TOCRH VAREITY FROM THE ANCASH AREA. THEY IS A NEW COLLECTION SITE SEPARATE FROM THE CHAVIN SEEDS.

Nelumbo Nucifera (SPACE Lotus) 25X Resin Extract (WHOLESALE)

Space Lotus is a super variety of Sacred Lotus (Nelumbo Nucifera). Space Lotus was discovered in a batch of normal lotus to have twice the potency, and since then it has been selected and named as Space Lotus. Sacred lotus has been used for centuries as an divination plant. It is a prominent Buddhist symbol. It is said that everywhere the baby buddha stepped, a lotus bloomed. The lotus also represents the Buddhist principle of simultaneity of cause and effect since the lotus is thought to be the only flower that simultaneously contains the seeds, which are the cause, while blooming, which is the effect.  Typically, the seeds in other plants appear once the flower has dies back. In Hinduism, lotus is a symbol of enlightenment as well as purity and rebirth.

Lotus is a sedative and hypnotic herb. Lotus flower synergizes well with alcohol and may be steeped in wine just like blue lotus. It has an airy, uplifting but relaxing effect that can help calm the body and aid in meditation or dreaming.  Lotus contains nuciferine, which boosts the analgesic effects of opioids and contains anti-inflammatory action, making it a potentially helpful for pain support.  Aporphines are among several other alkaloids also found in the plant.  Nuciferine also inhibits the growth of several different types of cancer cells, including those associated with skin, prostate, breast and lung cancers.

Nelumbo Nucifera (Sacred White Lotus) 25X Resin Extract (WHOLESALE)

Sacred lotus has many similarities to and is frequently confused with Nymphaea Caerulea. Sacred Lotus has long been celebrated as a religious and mythological symbol. In both Buddhism and Hinduism the lotus has spiritual meaning. As the national flower of India, Hindus associate it with fertility, rebirth, purity and beauty. It is said that Buddhists, who view it as an object of meditation and transcendence, borrowed the symbolic significance of the flower from Hindus. Perhaps nucifera’s reputation as a symbol of fertility is best represented in its seeds? ability to retain viability for extreme periods of time. According to the Sailsbury University Arboretum, a 1,288-year-old nucifera seed from an ancient lake bed in China is the oldest known of all seeds to germinate. Its mysticism may also be linked to the mild narcotic or sedative effects from flowers that are eaten, smoked or steeped in wine and drank. In addition to having an incredible list of medicinal applications from helping premature ejaculation to having anticancer properties to helping cramps and digestion, all parts of the plant are considered edible and appear widely in Asian cuisine.

Calandula Officinalis (Pot Marigold) Seeds

Calandula Officinalis, commonly known as Garden Marigold or Pot Marigold is a versatile plant that is useful to anyone with a garden or flower bed. Calendula is an easily grown ornamental flower sporting a range of 10-12″ yellow to orange flowers. These flowers are perennial in zones 9 and above. They are great as a border or landscaping plant because they will grow year-round.
Planting Calandula in or near your garden can increase your yields since it attracts beneficial pollinators like bees, butterflies and hoverflies. At the same time, calandula has insect repelling properties, which can keep your garden from being under attack. Most notably, they can help repel aphids away.  Calandula is considered a good companion plant to beans, broccoli, collard greens, Brussels sprouts, cucumbers, potatoes, carrots, asparagus, pumpkins and tomatoes. Calandula petals are also edible and can be incorporated into salads. The leaves may be bitter, but they are edible too.

Saccharum Officinarum (Green Sugar Cane) – LIVE PLANT CUTTING

We offer rooted green sugar cane cuttings. This very sweet variety is good for chewing. Sugar cane can also be boiled down to make molasses, a thick gooey liquid that is well-known in the kitchen. But molasses is a good nutritional support out in the barn. Mo[asses helps provide a boost for livestock like goats and chickens, especially newborn or those that are sick or dealing with harsh weather. Sugar cane  is essentially a giant grass, and as such it is rather hardy and easy to grow. Contrary to popular belief, sugar cane can handle some freezing, especially if you mulch the base of the plants. Simply cut back your stalks at the end of the season. You can leave about 8″-15″ so you keep some viable nodes, and bury the entire thing with mulch for the winter. You may not even need to bring them in for the winter.  Once established, sugar cane grows rapidly.  Sugar cane can be a good way to make use of unprepared growing space because it will grow in sandy soil where you might not be able to grow fruits and vegetables. As you might expect, sugar cane  will grow more vigorously in good fertile soil dressed generously with compost.  A single established cutting can produce 4-5 stalks in a season. Sugar cane is a good winter project because you can work on getting the plant’s roots further established inside. This doesn’t require any particular effort other than giving the plant some light and ample root space. But the more you do this will give you a bigger edge once the plants go outside. Each stalk you grow can easily make many more cuttings, which are easy to root in just pain water or moisten coco coir. So you can build up a supply exponentially.  Sugar cane pulp is also great in the garden, as a mushroom substrate or as food for vermicomposting. The leaves are potential food for livestock such as goats and rabbits, Cats also seem to enjoy them!

ALSO OFFERING “HILO BUDDHA” AND OTHER INTERESTING SUGAR CANE VARIETIES

Growing Information: Our cuttings are rooted in coir and have formed thick dense mats of roots. Keep these planted on the side in a large container or the ground. As the roots build up enough energy, they should send up a stalk. Bury the cutting and all the roots in a fertile, well-draining soil so that the top of the segment sees some light. Once established, sugar cane likes a well-draining, fertile sandy soil and full sun. They will survive with less sun, but they thrive in hot, humid environments.

Coffea Catura (Dwarf Arabica) – LIVE PLANT

OFFERING LIVE COFFEE CATURA PLANTS IN ADDITION TO ARABICA, ARABICA (INDIAN), KONA & ROBUSTA.

WHOLESALE & DROPSHIP AVAILABLE

Growing Information: Sow your seeds about oe an inch below the surface of soil and keep it lightly moist. Too much moisture will cause the seeds to rot. Potting soil with some perlite added in for drainage will or it can be mixed with sand and compost. Germination can take a while, so you may choose to cover your planted seeds with clear plastic to keep in moisture. Otherwise, you will have to mist the soil when it is at risk of drying out completely. Another option is sow your seeds in a sealable container or sandwich bag filled with either moist sand or the same soil mixture you will use to grow your plants. The advantage of using sand is that it is less likely to cause rot, but if your moisture level is correct that shouldn’t be a big concern. Check periodically to see when your seeds have sprouted. When you see a root popping out from the seed coat, plant the seed level with the soil in its own container with root facing down. The advantages of this method is that it saves space while the seeds are waiting to germinate and it allows you to position the seed in the exact direction it should be growing. Be sure that the seed is not packed too tightly so that it can rise easily out of the soil as it grows. The seedling is still at risk of rotting until the seed coat is off, so be sure not to over water. The seed has is a papery outer layer and a hard shell underneath, which you may need to gently assist with the removal of if it is not coming off. In warm climates, plants can be safely transplanted outdoors in a semi-shaded location after they are about 18”. Indoors, simply keep it near your window (preferably south, east or west). Feed the plants every two weeks from spring through fall and once a month during the winter with a 10-10-10 fertilizer. Allow the soil to dry out between waterings. Ideal humidity is around 50%, but is not essential.

Our plants are seedlings grown from seed. Growing from seed can be slow and tricky. These seedlings will save you significant time and possible failure growing from seed for not much more than a pack of seeds. Multiple plants quantities may be sent in compots to save on shipping. These seedlings typically transplant easily. Seedlings will range in size depending on stock.

Kratom is one of our most popular products. This shot is not for beginners. Each bottle contains 110mg of Nano Emulsified mitragynine, which is 2 x 55mg serviings. This means the molecules have been broken down to a nano level for maximum absorption. The result is a much higher efficiency of absorption. So compared to a normal shot of the same level, it will get more alkaloids into the bloodstream quicker.  We did not have a nano product, so we picked up these to add to our selection.

Mitragyna Speciosa (Kratom) Liquid Super Concentrate – 75mg/ml WHOLESALE

Kratom is one of our most popular products. This super concentrate is not for beginners. This is the most concentrated liquid available. It is made in a lab with the same pure isolate in our tablets, which is a full spectrum isolate. That means is has the full alkaloid profile that is found in leaf. The liquid is brought to full saturation. That means it contains the most amount of isolate that will remain suspended in liquid. Each one milliliter dropper contains 75mg of isolate. A single bottle contains as much alkaloid as about 15 of the standard “alkaloid suspension” bottles, which typically retail for about $15 a piece in stores. So this small bottle contains quite a bit. Given the purity and concentrated nature of this liquid, it has a rather fast absorption rate. We offer these bottles in red, white and green vein alkaloid. It is not recommended to exceed more than one 1ml  dropper at a time to start and no more than 3ml per day. This is bulk liquid concentrate by the gallon and multiple gallons.

BOTTLING, WHITE LABEL AND ANY SIZE BULK LIQUID AVAILABLE

55 Gallons? 275 Gallon Totes? We can do it.

Saccharum Officinarum (Hilo Buddha Sugar Cane) – LIVE PLANT CUTTING

Hilo Buddha is the rarest and coolest of Hawaiian sugar cane varieties. This is a highly variegated variety with bright contrasting streaks of lime green and maroon red with tinges of yellow. The stalks between the nodes bulge like Buddha’s belly.

These are thriving plants grown in the Florida sun, which is a perfect environment for sugar cane. Sugar cane is a type of grass, and it is easy-to-grow and fast-growing once it gets established. Established sugar cane multiplies rapidly by sending out new shoots from the base. Sugar cane will grow outdoors year-round in zones 9 and up, but you can grow in zone 8 with protection and anywhere else by bringing it in for the winter months. Cover the base with a thick layer of mulch, even up to several feet thick for added frost protection. They are said  to be hardy to about 20 degrees Fahrenheit, and a good layer of mulch, especially one that is warmed by active decomposition, can help keep your roots warm even past an air temperature of 20 degrees. You can also grow them in big containers if you need to move them indoors.  A 50/50 mix of potting soil and perlite will help keep big pots light for moving, so long as you keep them well watered in the hot months.
You will get a 4-6″ cutting with at least 2 nodes. Many of our stalks already have aerial roots. Sugar cane roots rather easily as long as it does not dry out or be allowed to mold. We will make fresh cuttings or ship rooted cuttings, depending on stock and time of year.

Growing Information: Sugar Cane roots easily in most growing medium Coco coir or peat moss will work well. You just need to keep the soil moist. Spraying with a copper solution can help fight off mold. But the cutting will usually root pretty easily if they don’t dry out or get too wet. Once established, sugar cane likes a well-draining, fertile sandy soil and full sun. They will survive with less sun, but they thrive in hot, humid environments.

Handmade Cold-Pressed Muscadine Grape Juice

This is an absolute delicacy. In a time when real food is so sought-after, this is an entirely handmade, small batch craft product. These grapes are grown 100% without any chemicals, including even organic pesticides. The grapes are picked by hand, hand-washed then pressed manually. This is a cold-pressed juice, which means there is nothing but the juice as it flows from the grapes. No water is added. The juice is strained by hand. The bottles are then hand-filled, hand corked and pasteurized manually. Muscadine pulp is more of a jelly than traditional grapes, so it releases even less liquid.  It takes about 10lb of grapes to make a half gallon of this juice. The price reflects the true cost of production for real food. But the product is like no other. This is nothing like the grape juice you are familiar with. The result is a syrupy sweet juice with bits of pulp that come through the mesh and settle out. Be sure to give the bottle a good shake before opening. This comes in a high-quality, thick amber 750ml wine bottle. ALSO OFFERING BLACK AND BRONZE MUSCADINE GRAPE SEEDS & DRIED LEAVES.

We offer this product in black, white (Bronze muscadines) or a blend. The Bronze is made with Carlos muscadines. The Black is made with Noble Muscadines, and the blend is a combo of these two. Be sure to specify which color you want if you have a preference. You can email or write on your order form.

Muscadine grapes despite being very sweet are said to have a positive support for type 2 diabetes by actually lowering blood glucose levels. Muscadines are said to potentially help with cholesterol and triglyceride levels while reducing blood clot risk. Muscadine grapes contain significantly higher levels of resveratrol than regular grapes, especially in the skin. Resveretrol is an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant and the key compound in grape seed extract. The intense pigment in the black grapes is also a sign of its high levels of polyphenols. You find this in most fruits that have a dark purple to blue pigment such as blueberries, blackberries, elder berry. black currant and chokeberries. Polyphenols and resveratrol could account for some of these purported benefits

Litchi Chinensis (Lychee Fruit Tree) – LIVE PLANT

We are offering small lychee fruit trees. Lychee is a popular Asian fruit that has pink bumpy shell with a firm but juicy jelly-like fruit inside covering a single brown seed. The fruit resembles a firm grape with a sweet floral, fruity taste. Lychee is a member of the soapberry family. These exotic morsels are not always readily available and can be quite expensive, so having your own tree could be really exciting. Lychee is a tropical fruit, best suited for zones 10A-11, but they are being grown with protection in the winter elsewhere in the U.S. Once your lychee tree has become firmly established, it can withstand brief temperatures down as low as 26 degrees. Even with hardy fruit trees, it seems letting them grow in large containers for several years and keeping them heavily pruned, will give you a better fruit set in the long run.  Lychee is self-fertile. But two trees will always give you better fruit set with just about any fruit you grow. These trees can reach full size, up to about 20-40 feet after many years. The foliage is an attractive dark evergreen leaf, so it will double as an ornamental. Lychee is not likely to be one of those plants your neighbors are growing, so it is definitely a good choice if you’re looking for something a bit exotic or out of the box.

Growing Information: Lychee requires a fertile well-draining soil such as a sandy loam. It does not like to be in standing water. It should be container grown for at least 3 years, but longer is better, especially in area that are not tropical. It does best in areas with 50-80 of rain per year, so you can use that a gauge to determine how much water you’ll need to provide. Consider drip irrigation. Providing more consistent conditions for your trees will help them to do better in the long run.

Monstera Borsigiana Albo (Deliciosa) – LIVE PLANT

is one of the most valuable and south-after plants by rare plant collectors. Our mission has always been to bring the most unique selection to our buyers. We have a limited supply of highly variegated plants. These do develop the “Swiss cheese” type leaves. But this high level of contrast makes them the type people really want.  Monstera Borsigiana Albo grows very easily in Florida, loving the heat and humidity. But they grow rather slowly, especially in other parts of the country, which adds to the scarcity. We are offering cuttings with at least 2 leaves each and a root.

Growing Information: Monstera Borsigiana Albo plants enjoy a very airy soil, that contains, nutrient-rich loam and a mix of fluffy substrate such as coir, peat or spaghnum moss. This is added for soil drainage, which is an absolute necessity. The roots do not like to be in any type of standing water and prefer good oxygenation. This plant is prone to sending out long aerial shoots, which can absorb humidity through the air. Make sure your container is very large to support the huge leaves and long roots and that it has plenty of holes for drainage. They do well in hanging baskets in indirect sun to partial shade while enjoying high heat and humidity. We have used orchid baskets made with natural fiber. They allow the root to grow through the basket, but they do have to be watered frequently. When you have the correct conditions, these plants are rather easy to care for.

Musa Acuminata (Dwarf Orinoco Banana) – LIVE PLANT

Up for sale is one Dwarf Orinoco Banana Plant. Originally from Venezuela, dwarf Orinoco is an awesome variety for its size, hardiness and versatile fruit. These plants will usually only get to be 6 to 10 feet, which makes them suitable for indoor or greenhouse growth. They are also cold hardy down to about zone 7b. The bananas are short and thick, and they also have a thick skin that keeps them from splitting like other short bananas. The fruit has a firm texture which makes them good for cooking and frying. But when they’re fully ripe, they are eaten fresh. They’re sweet, sometimes with undertones of strawberry. Very limited supply. These plants are about 9 to 12″. We also offer larger GRAND NAIN BANANA PLANTS.

Growing Information: These plants enjoy some shade when young, but will enjoy full sun as they mature. Plant in a well-draining soil with plenty of organic matter. Feed heavily and mulch the base of the plant. Keep well-watered as long as it is not in standing water.

Coffea Canephora (Syn. Coffea Robusta) – LIVE PLANT

OFFERING LIVE COFFEE ROBUSTA PLANTS IN ADDITION TO ARABICA, ARABICA (INDIAN), KONA & CATURA.

WHOLESALE & DROPSHIP AVAILABLE

Coffea Canephora, also known as Coffea Robusta, is a hardier, more disease-resistant species than the more popular Coffea Arabica. It originates from western Africa. While the coffee produced from canephora beans is generally considered to be lower quality than that produced from Arabica beans, it does have several advantages over Arabica. For one, it can be grown in conditions that are not ideal for Arabica. It also contains double the caffeine of Arabica and has beans that are more “Robust.” It is often blended with Arabica to reduce the acidity of the coffee or to increase the “crema,” particularly when making espresso. Like Arabica, trees left untrimmed can grow to heights of thirty feet. However, plants can easily be grown indoors as houseplants if pruned. Cuttings can be used to propagate new plants.

Helychrysum Odoratissimum (Imphepho) Herb Bundles WHOLESALE

This product contains helychrisum odoratissimum (imphepho) whole herb in bundles ready for smudging. We also offer shredded imphepho herb.

Imphepho is an herb with both ritualistic and medicinal uses in Africa, where it grows.  Imphepho is rich in oils and flavanoids that likely contribute to its various special properties. The name imphepho refers to a number of African species in the genus, helichrysum.  Many of these have generally the same effect as each other and can be used interchangeably as an herb.  Although it is often mentioned that the Amazon Rainforest still has many plants yet to be discovered, there seem to be just as many African herbs that we are still discovering.  Aside from just those that have never been researched, even the traditional herbs of that continent are perhaps the least well-known of all.   Little-known to western culture, imphepho is more proof that Africa still holds an array of special plants that we have not yet even begun to explore.

Imphepho is valued by traditional medicine men in Africa who use it as a smudging herb to communicate with ancestors and calm evil spirits. Imphepho is believed to help repel negative energy, and it does the same for insects.  Breathing the smoke over time can have a sedating effect, which might actually offer assistance when a shaman enters a trancelike state to perform his work.  This is much like the way frankincense is used in Christian practice. Many people do not realize that frankincense too, has sedative properties.  Some theorize that the breathing of frankincense has contributed to some of the heightened religious experiences Christians have reported.  There are other historical cases of incense plants working this way as well, and in fact, these types of experiences also seem to explain why certain plants or their resins have been chosen to be paired with spiritual practice.

Some people say imphepho is a good herb for those suffering from anxiety or who need help getting to bed. It has even been used as bed stuffing in Africa.  Imphepho also appears to have oneirogenic acivity, meaning the herb assists with lucid dreaming, dream activity and dream recall. This is similar to other African herbs such as silene capensis and entada rheedii.

Imphepho also has a lot of traditional medicinal uses, especially as a topical dressing to wounds. Sometimes the ashes of the burnt plant are used, which creates new chemicals that have additional benefits.  Using imphepho topically makes sense if it is true that imphepho has antiseptic, anti-viral, anti-fungal, anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory and pain relieving properties. It can also be used to make an anti-septic cream. More often, Imphepho is taken as a tea or a smoke for all sorts of pain or sickness.  The herb is taken in Africa as a remedy for menstrual cramps, headaches, coughs, cold and flu. Where western medicine is limited, imphepho is also used for more serious diseases such as tuberculosis, herpes and HIV.  Its anti-viral properties have yet to undergo any significant research, but imphepho could also open up new avenues for Western medicine too as we begin to notice the natural value that region of the world has to offer.

Sceletium Tortuosum (Kanna) Fermented Herb Powder WHOLESALE

Sceletium Tortuosum (Kanna) Fermented Herb Powder

Sceletium Tortuosum is a mesemb succulent native to South Africa, where it was historically chewed by the local people for mood elevation. Sceletium, or kanna , has captured the attention of researchers and is sometimes used today as a natural alternative to chemical antidepressants. Unfortunately, widespread interest in the plant has led to over-harvesting and endangerment. It is a specialty plant that is hard to find in nurseries or garden centers. Despite that, kanna is easy to maintain and makes a great houseplant. It grows rather quickly and can even flower just by placing it in a sunny window. Outside it is drought-tolerant and may be able to survive a brief frost, although precautions should be taken to avoid this if possible. The small flowers are delicately beautiful and can vary in color but are typically white or yellow. Kanna should not be combined with MAOI’s or SSRI’s . NO SALES TO LOUISIANA. (Contact us if you have an approved use.)

This product is premium grade kanna imported direct from South Africa.

Nymphaea Caerulea (Blue Lotus) WHOLE OPEN Flowers WHOLESALE

Nymphaea Caerulea, which is a synonym for the more proper nymphaea nouchali var. caerulea, derives from the banks of the Nile River and has many similarities to nelumbo nucifera. Because of these similarities, the two are frequently confused. However, nymphaea caerulea, which is frequently called blue lotus, is in fact a water lily and not a lotus. The fact that they are both referred to as “sacred” and have similar narcotic and sedative properties coupled with the fact that nelumbo nucifera actually does have a blue variety adds to the confusion. Like nelumbo nucifera, nymphaea is symbolically significant, and it has frequently been depicted in ancient Egyptian art and temples. It is very likely that caerulea is the legendary psychoactive lotus depicted in Homer’s Odyssey. Used similarly, the active principles of nymphaea caerulea are reportedly analogous to those in nelumbo nucifera petals, which is said to produce feelings of relaxation, clarity, lightness and well-being. The  nymphaea caerulea seeds are drastically smaller than those of nelumbo. Nymphaea caerulea petals are also skinnier which makes them appear pointy and triangular, whereas nelumbo nucifera petals are fatter and rounder. The cool blue hue of nymphaea caerulea flowers also makes the plant seem mystical and surreal, so it is no wonder it has been chosen for symbolic significance throughout history. This product contains high quality dried nymphaea caerulea flowers, meaning that they have retained their vibrant color and sweet aroma after drying. We have encountered other products that are brownish and dirty or that have insects. Our blue lotus flowers are colorful and have a good scent.

This product contains premium WHOLE blue lotus flowers. We have many forms of blue lotus, including whole bulbs, crushed flower, pure petals, pure stamens and more. These are in the most limited supply. WE ALSO OFFER VARIOUS OTHER LOTUS / NYMPHAEA PRODUCTS, INCLUDING SEEDS, STAMENS, PETALS AND EXTRACTS. CONTACT FOR BLUE LOTUS WHOLESALE

Nelumbo Nucifera (Pink Lotus) Seeds WHOLESALE

Nelumbo Nucifera, pink (Pink Lotus) Seeds

Nelumbo is a perennial blooming from July through September with little to no maintenance required. Individual plants can reach a several feet out of the water with a spread of about four feet. This variety produces huge pink flowers with characteristic round, sometimes cupping lily pads. Its native range includes much of Asia and Australia but it has been widely cultivated throughout the world, specifically in zones four through ten. Sacred lotus is a favorite of aquatic gardens particularly those in India, China and Thailand, and it is frequently paired with colorful goldfish. The dried flower pods are also popular in floral arrangements. CONTACT FOR WHOLESALE!

Carica Papaya (Papaya) Seeds

Papaya is both attractive and an excellent permaculture plant. Papaya fruits can actually be eaten green more like a vegetable or fresh when fully ripe.. You will have fruits on the tree for several months, but there is usually no immediate rush to pick them like some other fruits.  If you run into an early frost, or your papaya hasn’t fully developed, you can try a green papaya salad. The leaves are also used as a medicinal herb. Papaya plants are relatively easy to grow and can survive frost if you wrap the trunks and mulch the base, allowing you several years of fruit from one single plant.

Papaya is killed at temperatures below 31 degrees Fahrenheit, but we have had plants live through multiple nighttime temperatures in the mid to low 20s with wrapping and mulching. Of course, you can grow it as a container plant in a 15-20 gallon pot or larger and bring it in the house or a greenhouse for the winter. Papaya trees are considered hardy outdoors from zones 9B to 11. In colder areas, an alternative to lugging huge pots with trees in them between seasons is starting them ahead of time, bringing the young plants in for the first winter and then treating them as an annual. If you put them in the ground at about 2-3 feet, which is easy to do indoors or in a greenhouse, you should be able to get fruit from the plant in a single season beyond its recommended zone.  And you can keep your crops going by taking cuttings or air layering.

Papaya plants enjoy a lot of water and good feeding. You want the plants well-watered but not pooling., so planting them in a mound with a raised ring for water collection will help with that. You can throw your kitchen scraps, egg shells and coffee grounds on your plants to give extra nutrients. But otherwise, you will want to fertilize like other fruits trees, heavy on nitrogen early in the year with a dose of bone meal or a blooming/fruiting fertilizer as blooms begin to form. If you do not experience frost, you should continue to get new papayas forming as the plant grows. The blooms themselves are also really nice.

Papaya contains papain, which is a digestive enzyme that not only support digestion, it works as a meat tenderizer. Try a bit of papaya enzyme next time you marinate meat for the grill. You can use the fruit ripe or unripe as a puree with your marinade.

These seeds come from Red Lady Papayas, which is a self-fertile variety These seeds were float tested  before drying to give you the best chance of success.. Fruit seeds do usually grow true to type, so the resulting plants may or may not be self-fertile. Usually, you will want about one male papaya plant for every 8 female plants for best fertilization.  Once you start your own plants from seed, you can clone the plant by cutting or air layering, which will give you a genetically identical plant. So you can choose the sex and other characteristics like vigor this way.

Growing Information: Start your papaya seeds by soaking them in hot water for at least a day, but longer if possible. You can use potassium nitrate or a 250ppm solution of ga-3 for 48 hours for added benefit. You want the seeds to soak up as much moisture in this process as possible because they do germinate slowly and irregularly. Choose a well draining soil with about 50% compost and 50% soil. Any soil that is fertile and well-draining will work. A soil ph of 6-6.5 is ideal. Bury your seeds about ½ – ¾”. Keep the soil moist and out of direct sunlight. Papaya seedlings can be sensitive to direct sunlight. The mature plants also seem to prefer filtered sunlight. You may notice them wilt in the hotter moments. If you keep the plant well-watered, you should see the results in terms of growth. Papaya also likes high humidity. If you move your papaya indoors, be sure to cut it back.

Hibiscus Acetosella (Cranberry Hibiscus) – Live Plant

Cranberry Hibiscus is an ornamental, flowering alternative salad green. The dark burgundy leaves are a standout, much like red Japanese Maple. The color does imply connotations of cranberry, but the nickname is more so derived from their tart flavor.  A perfect ingredient for a salad green mix, cranberry hibiscus leaves impart their own acidic flavor to synergize with or replace vinegar or lemon.  The taste is not unlike wood sorrel, which make sense because they both contain oxalic acid. (You do not want to overindulge in oxalic acid, especially if you are at risk for kidney stones, but moderate amounts are fine. It is found in many common vegetables such as broccoli, spinach, potatoes, raspberries, almonds, dates, beets, soy milk and navy beans.) Cranberry hibiscus is high in vitamin C and iron and also a good source of calcium, niacin, b3 and riboflavin. You can eat cranberry hibiscus leaves raw, and you can make tea from the flowers much like sorrel, which is from hibiscus sabdariffa.

Cranberry hibiscus is both fast-growing and remarkably easy to grow and reproduce by cuttings. A small cutting in a one gallon pot can reach about 4-5 feet in height over a summer with branches. If you prune, you can get a more bushy plant.. Cranberry hibiscus is a great choice for landscaping to offer some color variety. Since the leaves are colored, you can maintain color all season long, even when the plant is not flowering. Once the plant begins to bloom, it forms dark maroon star-like buds, which give way to pink petaled blossoms with blood-red centers. So if you’re looking for something easy to grow, that’s edible and can be used in landscaping and flowers, cranberry hibiscus appeals on all fronts.

Growing Information: Gradually acclimate your plants to a location in full sun or place under artificial lighting indoors. Soil should be fertile, well-draining and fertilized occasionally.

Coffea Kona (Coffee) – LIVE PLANT

OFFERING LIVE COFFEE KONA PLANTS IN ADDITION TO ARABICA, ARABICA (INDIAN), ROBUSTA & CATURA.

WHOLESALE & DROPSHIP AVAILABLE

Kona coffee is a variety of Arabica from the Kona region of Hawaii whose beans produce a distinct taste with a lower acidity and caffeine content than typical Arabica beans. These coffee plants are in especially high demand. Kona is considered a specialty coffee. Growing Kona for commercial production requires a very specific weather pattern, but it may easily be grown as an ornamental houseplant with minimal care. Coffee likes a bit of shade, so coffee plants do well indoors or in a sunny window. Coffee is actually one of the easiest plants to grow if you just keep it watered and in a consistent amount of light. You can grow them outside too, but keep your plants out of direct sunlight as coffee plants can burn. Fertilize your Kona coffee plants with a high nitrogen fertilizer. Once your kona plant is of blooming age, you can start giving it extra doses of bonemeal to promote strong fruit and root development. You may already be aware that you can use spent coffee grounds in your garden to add that extra boost of nitrogen, and that means you can add it back to the base of your coffee plants. It is important that the grounds are spent since that will have lowered the acidity a bit. Another fun fact about growing coffee, is the fruits also contain some caffeine. They are both edible and nutritious with significnat quantities of antioxidants, polyphenals, Vitamin C, Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) and BDNF (Brain-derived Neuropathic Factor). The fruits can also be applied topically to support supple skin.. if you’re growing beans for yourself, you can eat the fruit right off the fresh coffee beans. Otherwise, you can remove the skins by pressing or stepping on the beans with an unused pair of footwear. After you’ve split the fruits by pressing. you can soak the pressed fruit in water, and they will float. The seeds will sink, and you can collect both parts of the fruit.

Vitis Rotundifolia (Bronze Muscadine Grape / Scuppernong) Seeds

DROPSHIPPING AVAILABLE!

Muscadine grapes (vitis rotundifolia) are excellent wine grapes, delicious to eat, especially nutritious and many times more productive than that of regular grape vines. Considered a superfruit, the muscadine is an American grape, native to the Southeastern U.S., which has a taste very similar to concord grapes or even grape soda. They can be addictive. Muscadine grapes are suited to hot and humid climates where other grapes will not perform, and they have a very low chill hour requirement. Muscadines do contain seeds, which people have come to avoid in grapes over the last few decades, but those seeds are an extra packed source of resveratrol, antioxidants and multiple beneficial phenolic compounds. Certainly, the seeds can be spit out. But in an age where people pay for grapeseed extract and other natural supplements, it is possible to eat the seeds. Muscadine grapes do not ripen together in huge clusters, but rather they ripen individually and grow in little groups of about 3 or 4 berries all along the vine. But sometimes they do cluster together in as many as 15-20 grapes. This means they can be more labor-intensive to harvest, which may be one reason why traditional grapes became more commercially available. But the home gardener often knows the secrets of many edible treasures that were passed over on the basis of profitability. Mature muscadine vines can develop three-inch thick trunks and span over 20 feet in length. Ideally, they should be trellised on a wire with posts 10 feet apart. Each season, in early spring before the leaves begin growing, the vines are cut back to the main stems to remove any of the thinner stems back to the thicker, woodier stems. This process will thicken the main stems and force the plant to send out new shoots. Aside from pruning, muscadine grapes are pretty low maintenance. Their thick skin makes them disease and rot resistant and can tolerate a bit of neglect. They also hold up to spoliage a bit better, and they are perfectly fine being frozen if you are using them for wine or juice. Once established, muscadine grape vines will produce for decades. Muscadine leaves are also edible and can be used just like regular grape leaves. The grapes are also spectacular in jams and jellies. And of course, muscadine wine can create a wide spectrum of wines from sweet to dry. But they are usually made into sweeter style wines and often mixed with other fruits and served chilled.

We offer both Black and Bronze muscadine seeds. The Bronze grapes are also known as Scuppernong. They are a bit larger than the black grapes, and they have a different, but equally delicious flavor.

Growing Information: Vitis Rotundifolia usually prefers cold treatment in order to germinate. To simulate the natural chill hours the plants would experience, you can either plant the seeds outside in winter, or you can put them in the fridge for a month.PLant them about 1/4- 1/8″ deep in any standard potting or seed-starting mix. Maintain proper moisture until they sprout. This will usually take at least a few weeks.  Provide structure for climbing. Little maintenance is required once the plant is established. This plant is ideal for zones 5-9, but can reportedly grow all over Florida. Ideally, they should have at least 300 chill hours to fruit.

Acacia Confusa (Koa Formosa) – Live Plant

Acacia Confusa is an attractive, yellow-flowered shrub that grows in Southeast Asia. Acacia Confusa is actually native to the northern Phillipines, China and Taiwan, but it has been introduced to other areas including Micronesia and Taiwan. Reaching heights of up to 4 meters in its native environment, Acacia Confusa is also known as Formosa Koa or Philippine Acacia. Confusa reportedly contains powerful antioxidants and is used to treat blood disorders in traditional herbalism where the plants naturally grow. Laboratory studies have also indicated a potential for the plant extract to fight hepatitis C. In Taiwan, the wood is also reportedly used to make support beams for underground mines. Although not as well-known as its close relatives such as acacia maidenii and acacia obtusifolia, acacia confusa makes a great ornamental plant. The pom-pom-shaped flowers resemble those of the mimosa genus. This species is listed as hardy from zones 9-11, but it can be grown as a container plant in cooler environments much the way its relatives commonly are. Like many other mimosoid plants, acacia confusa is tolerant of poor soils. It reproduces readily after fire. The seeds themselves have a good ornamental potential and can be used as beads. In addition to plants, this plant is reportedly reproduced through cuttings.

Growing Information: Gradually acclimate your plants to a location in full sun or place under artificial lighting indoors. Soil should be fertile, well-draining and fertilized occasionally.
